Spectrum Management is the process of regulating the use of radio frequencies to promote efficient use and gain a net social benefit. IZ Technologies understands that the increasing demand for services such as mobile telephones and many others has required changes in the philosophy of spectrum management. The demand for wireless broadband has soared due to technological innovation, such as 3G and 4G mobile services, and the rapid expansion of wireless internet services. We are currently support the spectrum management needs of DISA in areas of Southwest Asia. We are supporting working group meetings to develop a plan of action to address spectrum interference concerns voiced by the regional Mobile Networks Operators. Our goals are to rationalize and optimize the use of the RF spectrum; avoid and solve interference; design short and long range frequency allocations; advance the introduction of new wireless technologies; and to coordinate/solve interference issues with MNOs, foreign Governments, and US Government entities.
Dr. Chi Nche is our Senior Spectrum Management SME and has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry covering areas of research and development, wireless network design, network deployment & operations to spectrum regulations and policies. This experience has been achieved within the US and many international locations. He is currently supporting DISA (Defense Information Systems Administration), which is part of the DoD (Department of Defense), as an advisor to MCIT (Ministry of Communications and Information Technology) in Afghanistan. Specifically, Dr. Nche is supporting MCIT’s regulatory arm, ATRA (Afghanistan Telecommunications Regulator Agency), to better manage, monitor and regulate the wireless spectrum. Dr. Nche, working as part of ATAT (Afghanistan Telecom Advisor Team), will advise on monitoring techniques, equipment & software, interference detection and resolution, regulatory policy as well liaising with wireless operators.
Dr. Nche graduated from the University of Liverpool, UK, with a BEng degree. He completed his post graduate research in the same university to earn his doctorate shortly after. After working as a Research Assistant for a brief period, Dr. Nche joined a wireless consulting firm in the USA. Dr. Nche worked with this consulting firm for over 12 years, where he worked on wireless research and development projects, RF design, deployment, optimization, operation of PCS networks in the US, Mexico and Latin America as well as the Middle East. He was instrumental in the rapid growth of his firm in Mexico and Latin America as he was promoted to the director of engineering responsible for P&L as well as personnel management and project execution. Dr. Nche later moved on to another consulting firm where he was engaged with spectrum issues related to the AWS bands and PCS frequency bands. During this time, he worked closely with the various government agencies and wireless operators to detect and mitigate interference issues.
